Gift and Estate Planning

The Office of Advancement offers a variety of life-income plans to individuals who have given careful thought to their philanthropic plans and who are interested in assisting the College through such gift arrangements.   Please call 865.938.8186 for information about any of these planned-giving opportunities.

Outright Gifts - For most persons, the easiest and most convenient gift to arrange is an outright gift to The Crown College of the Bible.

Gift annuities - A charitable gift annuity is a combination of a gift and an investment. In exchange for a gift of $5,000 or more (either in the form of cash or readily marketable securities), you will receive a fixed sum on a regular basis from The Crown College of the Bible throughout your lifetime.

Pooled Income funds - A pooled income fund is a type of trust which "pools" your gift of at least $1000 with other gifts for investment purposes. In return, you receive a proportionate share of the net income earned by the fund each year (much like a traditional mutual fund), which is taxed to you as ordinary income. Upon your death, your "units" in the fund pass to The Crown College of the Bible. Unlike a mutual fund, your "units" cannot be sold or withdrawn.

Charitable trusts - A charitable remainder trust (CRT) provides a way for you to make a gift that benefits both you and your family as well as The Crown College of the Bible.

Real estate - You may donate your personal residence, all or part of your vacation residence, commercial property, farm or other real estate either as an outright gift or as part of a life-income plan. Tax savings and other benefits will vary according to the method you choose, your personal circumstances and the value of the property.

Life insurance - A gift of a life insurance policy to the College will permit you a deduction equal to the cash surrender value of the policy, its replacement value or its "interpolated terminal reserve" value (a value slightly higher than its cash surrender value), but not in excess of its tax basis (cost).

Wills & bequests - A will is never just a legal document. It is also a reflection of the values in which you believe. We hope that you share in the values and mission of The Crown College of the Bible. If you would like to help ensure its continuation, we invite you to consider a bequest to The Crown College of the Bible.
