The Crown College Choir has been a signature of the work at Crown College for many years. Pastor Sexton and Dr. Earl Holloway began the choir over twenty years ago and the Lord has used this ministry in a wonderful way. Each song selection is given to honor the Lord Jesus Christ and point people to the true and living God.
Dr. John Thompson has just become the new choir director for the choir this semester. Dr. Thompson holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Voice Performance from the University of Memphis. He and his wife, Anca, have two children: Samuel (3) and Rebecca Grace (2). The Thompsons are actively involved in the Temple Baptist Church and Dr. Thompson has a passion to train young people to sing and lead Christ-honoring music. The choir members are enthused about his leadership.
The 120-voice Crown College Choir traveled this week to sing at the Southwide Baptist Fellowship meeting in Somerville, Alabama. Their presence and songs were a great blessing to all who attended. Pastor Sexton preached after the choir sang and God blessed in a mighty way.
