It is exciting for Temple Baptist Church and Crown College to be involved in our community in reaching young people for the cause of Christ! We have an opportunity to have a Teens for Christ Bible club in every middle school and high school in Knox county. We are also involved in several of the Boys and Girls clubs in our area.
One of the highlights of our evangelistic outreach is our annual Teens for Christ Crusade. This year we were able to have our meeting on the campus of Central High School – Go Bobcats! It was exciting to have special guests, Bob Holmes, “The One Man Volleyball Team,” and David Gillum, Anderson County High School head football coach. The rally began with food and fun in the gymnasium, and then moved to the auditorium for a message themed “A Revolution Back to the Bible.” Several hundred young people gathered to hear the gospel and to be challenged to reach their school for Christ. We would like to say a special thanks to J.D. Lambert, Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, and Mitch Mitchell, teacher sponsor of the Bible club at Central, for their help in making the Crusade possible.
Pastor Sexton often says, “Nothing is dynamic until it’s specific, and nothing is real until it’s personal.” As we follow up on decisions from the meeting, we are excited to see one of the young men who made a profession of faith at the rally invite his family and grandparents to attend our church service on Resurrection Sunday to be baptized!
Please keep us in your prayers as we reach one of the greatest mission fields in our country – the public school!
