PREACHING SOCIETY

The Preaching Society exposes students to historic preachers and provides participating students with the opportunity to hear sermons God has greatly used in the past, receive instruction on improving sermon preparation and presentation, and gain actual preaching experience in the society.

CHESS SOCIETY

Students prepare during the year by competing in an inter-dormitory tournament that leads to the campus championship.

BIBLE TRANSLATION SOCIETY

The Bible Translation Society is led by a veteran instructor in the Missions Department.

MISSIONARY PRAYER BAND

In the prayer band, student meet to pray for the ministries and requests of our missionaries. Many find direction through this ministry regarding where and how God wants them to serve Him.

SERVICE SOCIETY

The Service Society is initiated to provide students involvement in service opportunities as they arise at The Crown College, Temple Baptist Church and The Temple Baptist Academy. The society does not meet every week; rather, students are contacted through the college-wide Schoolcast system by the Dean of students when there is a service opportunity for them to get involved. During the school year, the Service Society aids in activities like setting up for and cleaning up from banquets and conferences, preparing for student activities, and facilitating the successful operation of a myriad of College and Church functions.

AUDIO-VISUAL SOCIETY

The AV Society is led by the director of the campus AV department, who trains students in video and audio recording, radio, and live-streaming for both the church and college ministries.  Students receive live, hands-on training while serving in this vital ministry.

CREATION SCIENCE SOCIETY

Each week new topics of discussion in the field of Creation Science are considered. The discussion is often followed by a video presentation on the subject. Students enrolled in the society make a trip to the Creation Museum during the spring semester.

AUTOMOTIVE SOCIETY

The Automotive Society is led by the director of the School of Trades and Technology. The society discusses aspects and methods of vehicle maintenance and repair. Students have the opportunity to participate in the repair process.

LANGUAGE SOCIETY

The Language Society is led by the director of the International Language Navigators.  The director is actively involved in teaching the T.E.S.O.L. program on Monday nights to students who do not speak English, and also teaching college students how to teach English to speakers of other languages.

ENGLAND PRAYER BAND

The England Prayer Band is conducted by students who have a specific burden for the United Kingdom. They meet on a weekly basis for prayer and communication regarding the gospel ministry in England.
