Master of Christian Education (M.C.E)
This program provides advanced professional instruction founded on the Word of God that will equip students with the philosophical knowledge and practical skills required of educational leaders in any setting.
Program Objectives:
Students who complete the Master of Christian Education program will be able to:
- Communicate an educational philosophy based upon a biblical foundation with knowledge of the historical and philosophical frameworks that underlie American education
- Evaluate current educational research with an understanding of educational research philosophies, concepts, and procedures
- Demonstrate required knowledge and skills for further graduate study
- Develop a curriculum scope and sequence based upon research of national standards and sound pedagogy focused on student understanding
- Design and select a variety of instructional strategies and learning assessments based on sound practices and the individual needs and level of the learner
- Integrate appropriate technology and research-based methods to support instruction (Specialization in Educational Administration)
- Develop an institutional advancement plan for overall institutional improvement and funding and for effective evaluation of the institution, educational processes, and instructional staff.
- Demonstrate the characteristics of an effective administrator in the areas of legal issues, community relations, personnel supervision, student matters, and physical plant management.
- Develop basic organizational materials (manuals, handbooks, etc.) and guidelines for discipline, teacher recruiting and evaluating, and curriculum design.
