in Youth Ministry

Young people must be taught the clear commandments of God's Word. The purpose of the local church youth ministry is to equip families so that they may establish a scriptural foundation in the lives of their children.  It is vital that a youth minister personally walk with God and enthusiastically work with parents.

Since the Scriptures are the only authority for the lives of young people, the Youth Ministry program is built on a sound footing of instruction in Bible doctrine and knowledge.  A minimum of 128 credit hours is required to complete this program.

Key Courses

Living the Christian Life - The open secret of looking to Christ in the victorious Christian life is the cornerstone of this course personally taught by Dr. Sexton. The pursuit of Christ and the necessity of the personal devotional life are emphasized.

Theology of Youth Work - This course will look at the Scriptures as the only guide for local church youth ministry. You will learn how to use the Bible as a counseling guide and how to teach young people to develop their own convictions, finding answers from their own study of the Bible.

Bible Clubs in the Public School - This course is examines the principles and methods involved in launching and conducting a public school Bible club ministry, including a treatment of the legal opportunities and challenges.  You will become involved in a dynamic public school Bible club ministry as you fulfill the requirements of the course.
